THE VISION

Dr. E Dewey Smith, Jr., Senior Pastor/Teacher of the House of Hope Atlanta (Greater Travelers Rest Baptist Church), is noted as having a passion toward seeing that hurting people receive restoration. Dr. Smith is keenly aware that one of the ways in which God delivers emotional/mental restoration is through professional mental health counseling. As a result, God gave Dr. Smith a vision for a full-fledged professional counseling center, staffed by state licensed clinicians, that would be located on the House of Hope Atlanta campus.

The belief is that by meeting the emotional and mental health needs of the congregation and neighboring communities, healing will begin from the inside out. This inner healing will usher in spiritual and relational transformation that will result in people realizing and fulfilling their destiny course. To that end, Haven House Counseling Center was officially launched on January 21, 2014, all to the glory of God.
